I am a wife, mother of four and grandmother of two. I worked in construction with my husband before I became ill.

I was baptized as a baby but never got any formal instruction or education in the faith. I did not understand the Catholic faith (in those days the masses were said in Latin) so as a teen and young adult I did not practice the faith.

I developed a deep desire to know and follow Jesus, so I returned to mass (which was now being said in English) and started reading the Bible. Before I would read anything I would say, "Jesus teach me what You want me to learn, Holy Spirit enlighten my mind and my heart." Little by little I have come to a greater understanding and knowledge of what our Lord wants of us and have tried to follow it. Prayer and the Sacraments are the center of my faith. Jesus is my strength.
