I was born and raised in Montana. I have a BA degree in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. In 1978 I moved into the Zen Center of Los Angeles and began practicing with Maezumi Roshi. I was with him for 20 years until he died in 1995. I completed my studies with Roshi Bernie Glassman who is the co-founder of the Peacemaker Order. In 1996 I received authority to teach from him. My husband, Charles Tenshin FLetcher, and I jointly taught at Zen Mountain Center near Idyllwild CA until I left the Mountain Center in 1999. I established the Sweetwater Zen Center in the year 2000.
