Over the course of his 55 years, Van has been a husband of one wife, Joyce, father to four children, all of whom are now married with families of their own, and a seeker of authenticity and integrity. Out of a need to support his family, he has worked in several different careers including Project Team Leader, Data Systems Project Manager, and College Instructor. Out of a desire to explore the seeker side of his personality, he has pursued advanced degrees in English Literature & Education, studied and practiced a variety of philosophical and spiritual disciplines, and has recently left employment as a staff pastor of a moderately-large evangelical church in Orange County, California, to become part of an small, experimental Christian Community of Faith exploring ‘ancient/future’ forms of interpersonal and spiritual relationship, replenishment, and worship.
