
Nicolee Jikyo Miller-McMahon,
Sensei, received Dharma Transmission from Taizan Maezumi Roshi in 1995.
In 1969 she began meditation practice , and began formal Zen study in
1980 initially with Genpo Roshi and Joko Sensei while they were teachers
at the Zen Center of Los Angeles and then with Maezumi Roshi. She works
with students using a variety of traditional practices including
shikantaza, koan study, breath and body practices, as well as the
"Practice of Immediacy"
© (the arts, music, writing, poetry, movement/dance), council
circles, and other skillful means used to help each person realize their
true nature. She has also written the publication, Student and
Teacher: A Zen Perspective. Nicolee is married, and has two grown
children, and a stepson. She has studied a variety of methods for
working with individuals to assist them in their daily lives. She also
works as a Marriage and Family Counselor and is a student of art and the
Dances of Universal Peace.
