Karen Goran is a native Californian who has lived in the San Fransisco Bay area, the spacious Central Valley, and southern California. She was a teacher and a reading specialist. She is an ordained elder and deaconess in the Presbyterian Church.

She practices the art of spiritual direction at the Episcopal Church of the Messiah in Santa Ana, Ca., Morningside Presbyterian Church in Fullerton, Ca., and on centering prayer retreats with Contemplative Outreach of San Diego. She facilitates a contemplative prayer group weekly.

Her interests are in mid-life spirituality, the contemplative dimension of scriptures, music and art. She enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, and her family. Being a wife, mother and grandmother bring much joy to her life.
