John (Jake) Gage has over 15 years in the Zen Buddhist, Soto lineage tradition. He is trained in shikantaza and breath practice. Prior to his Zen practice, he spent several years practicing Transcendental Meditation. In 2001 he retired from the Oceanside School District, and is now pursuing his goals as an artist. John Jiyu
